[YEP-DC] Development Associate Position - Boston area

Blueprint Schools Network is hiring a Development Associate to be based at our national office in Newton, MA.

Blueprint Schools Network (Blueprint) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to using a rigorous research-based framework to accelerate achievement and close the achievement gap in the nation's lowest-performing public schools. Blueprint plans, implements, and monitors the progress of whole school transformation with the goal of dramatically improving the educational and life opportunities for all students.

 

Development Associate Job Description:
We are seeking dynamic candidates interested in joining our team.  The Development Associate position will require the ability to plan, manage, and organize Blueprint's development pipeline and current philanthropic relationships.  Some travel to our partner districts may be required. Core roles and responsibilities of the position include:


  • Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan;
  • Coordinate with program and operations teams to identify funding needs; Match prospective funders to specific needs;
  • Oversee logistics and grants management including the drafting of updates and white papers on the state of Blueprint's work;
  • Manage relationships and correspondences with funders and prospective funders;
  • Assemble databases, manage mailing lists and newsletters, and write grant proposals;
  • Oversee grant writing activities including narrative and budget development;
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events.

 

Position Requirements:
A successful candidate must have a track record of organization and excellent writing skills; start-up experience is preferred.  He/she should possess a background and passion for serving at-risk students or working in education reform.  Requirements include:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with district and national leaders in education and policy.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to collect, manipulate, and interpret data.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

 

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; background in education, business or similar fields preferred.  A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience is required.  Appropriate specializations in development and fundraising will be strongly considered.
