Funding for Start-Up Nonprofit Founders

 

The Capital Cause Young Philanthropist Venture Program (YP Venture Program) is a 5-month program housed under and maintained by Capital Cause, a 501c3 nonprofit that (a) provides training and funding for founders of nonprofits seeking to launch and/or scale their business, and (b) awards them with access to skilled volunteers in Capital Cause young philanthropist network.

Capital Cause is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to revolutionizing the definition of philanthropy by actively engaging millennials in collectively donating their time and financial resources to strengthen the DC, VA and MD communities!

 

Eligibility Requirements:

• At least one of the founders MUST be a millennial (21-35 years old)
• Must be a 501c3 organization (to include fiscally-sponsored nonprofit organizations)
• Must serve the DC, VA and/or MD community
• Focus must be in one of the following areas: Education, Health, Poverty, or the Environment
• Must have an operating budget of no more than $50,000
• Must have been in existence for more than 1 year, but less than 5 years

Nonprofit Founders Receive: 

• Each organization participating in the YP Venture Program will receive between $500 – $2,500 in capital funds to support a project
• Training to help manage, scale and fund your venture
• Mentoring to assist with business plan development, funding strategy, and marketing/outreach
