[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Immediate Opening - Special Education Teacher

Friendship Public Charter Schools has an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher in a Middle School setting. 

 

We are looking for education professionals who:

• are motivated by a sense of urgency so that each minute is used for learning
• are highly successful academically
• demonstrate continued mastery of content area(s)
• embrace the Friendship PCS community and have a strong desire to teach the students of culturally rich, but historically underserved, neighborhoods
• will do “whatever it takes” to ensure that rigorous academic expectations are met or exceeded by each student
• strongly believe that it is ultimately your responsibility and within your ability as a teacher to ensure that every student in your room meets or exceeds our school’s high standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Minimum of one year classroom teaching experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of teachers
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Desire to grow as an educational leader
• Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam and/or Highly Qualified to teach in Washington, DD
