Hello Juana—

I hope this email finds you well. I contact you today to invite you to join us at this year's Ready to Lead (R2L) D.C. -- Mentoring Power Hour. R2L is a national college-going event for high school freshmen and sophomore students and every year we host one in D.C. during Hispanic Heritage Month. This fall we will be at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.

The event brings together D.C. area high school students (primarily Latino/as) to encourage them to complete high school and pursue a college education. During the event we have a session called 'Mentoring Power Hour' during which we host area professionals and college students to show students that success is within reach. The session will run from 10:05-11:30am and mentors are welcome to stay to join us for lunch and continue their conversations with students. Attached you will find the flyer as well a session description to help you prepare should you choose to participate. Would you also mind sharing this with your colleagues? It'd be great if we could have a good representation of HACU representatives in the group.

I hope you will be able to join us. The success of R2L rests on the support of our alumni, educational partners and volunteers like you. Should you have any additional questions/concerns, or to confirm your participation, please contact me directly at aalmada@chci.org or via phone, 202.548.8781. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
