Position Title

Position /Qualification Summary

ESL Teacher

 

·         Support general education teachers in addressing language objectives that are closely connected to the academic content and is aligned with Center City PCS academic standards, in order to accelerate language proficiency and academic achievement for ELLs.

·         Develop and revise clear criteria and standards for quality work and examine student work regularly to ensure that it meets increasingly higher standards of quality.

·         Collaborate with teachers to modify formative assessments for ELLs and to provide accommodations in summative assessments as appropriate.

·         Support teachers' planning of meaningful service and learning projects by suggesting appropriate activities and field trips that benefit our ELLs and promote cultural and linguistic awareness in the classroom and school community.

·         Minimum requirements include a B.A. and Praxis certification in the subject area.

Math Specialist

 

·        Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and coach to implement a quality math program that is research- based with a focus on differentiating mathematics instructions.

        Provides instruction that supports, supplements, and extends excellent classroom teaching .

        Responsible for analyzing school mathematics data and planning for future school-wide math needs.

        Support the professional growth of elementary school and middle school mathematics teachers by strengthening classroom teachers' understanding of math content

        Help teachers develop effective math teaching practices that allow all students to reach high standards as well as sharing research addressing how students learn mathematics

·         Candidates must have at least three years math teaching experience.

·         Minimum requirements include a B.A. and Praxis certification in Math. A Masters in applicable subject area is preferred.

Math Teacher

·         Plan and deliver daily effective differentiated instruction, based on Center City PCS' rigorous academic standards, student assessment data, and Center City PCS curriculum framework.

·         Design and implement daily lessons that engage all learners, fit in with a long-term learning plan, follow the Center City PCS lesson plan format, and are aligned with Center City PCS academic standards.

·         Develop and revise clear criteria and standards for quality work and examine student work regularly to ensure that it meets increasingly higher standards of quality.

·         Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and inventory of classroom materials.

·         Participate and assist as needed in the annual school review process, charter school monitoring, school evaluations, and other school compliance procedures.

·         Engage parents and families in their child's academic success.

·         Minimum requirements include a B.A in mathematics, engineering, or applicable subject area and subject area passing Praxis scores.

Reading Specialist

 

 

·         Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and coach to implement a quality reading program that is research based with a focus on differentiating for the three levels of RTI.

·         Provides instruction that supports, supplements, and extends excellent classroom teaching Position is responsible for analyzing school literacy data and planning for future literacy needs.

·         Responsible for instructing students individually or in groups to enable students to develop literacy skills.

·         Assist administrators and teachers at the assigned school in the implementation of a comprehensive literacy program with a focus on differentiation.

·         Collect and facilitate the review and use of school literacy data to guide instruction and plan for student needs.

·         Demonstrates literacy lessons to teachers in workshop settings.

·         Coordinate the literacy work of other reading staff in the building as applicable.

·         Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience with Literacy/Education.

·         Minimum requirements include a B.A. in Literacy/Reading and Praxis certification in Reading. A Master in Literacy or Reading Specialist is preferred.
