[YEP-DC] Energy and Education Job Opening

Program Manager, Education Team

Description: The Alliance to Save Energy, a non-profit coalition of business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders who promote the efficient and clean use of energy worldwide, seeks a Program Manager for its Education Team in Washington, D.C.

The Alliance seeks a creative and organized detail-oriented self starter who has experience with K-12 schools, higher education and energy efficiency, and in the management of complex projects.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Manage PowerSave Schools and PowerSave Campus programs, including overall national program coordination of the PowerSave Schools Program;
  • Program support including marketing the programs to funders, recruiting schools and campuses for program participation, supporting schools and campuses with their efficiency activities, organizing workshops and training activities, and more;
  • Establish key partnerships within states and at the national level to enhance and support programs;
  • Develop new program tools and innovations, including lesson plans and curricular modules;
  • Write proposals and develop budgets;
  • Plan and participate in national PowerSave Schools and PowerSave Campus meetings, retreats, and other events;
  • Review and revise Education-related sections of the Alliance website, PowerSave Schools and PowerSave Campus marketing materials, and Green Schools instructional resources;
  • Supervise Education team project managers and senior associates;
  • Coordinate contracts, financial matters, and team-wide communications;
  • Travel required.

 

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Master's degree in education, environmental science, or other related degree, with strong public speaking, writing and computer skills, and the ability to work effectively independently and with a team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with schools and developing curriculum. At least seven years of related experience are required.
