Charter Board Partners - Program Assistant

Position Overview

The Program Assistant will support CBP activities and staff to ensure that the organization fulfills our ambitious mission to improve educational opportunities for students by strengthening charter school boards. She/he will serve as the administrative and strategic support person for a team of approximately 7 professionals. This role is critical to our capacity to implement our innovative, comprehensive, and powerful model. This is an organization with room to grow and develop; a highly successful Program Assistant would become a leading candidate for higher-level positions as they open.

Key Responsibilities

n  Data and Program Systems Management. Serve as the organization's point person for database management and the effective and strategic use of data to drive quality implementation of our program. The Program Assistant will develop and maintain systems to track all CBP data, with a focus on data regarding the members of the CBP board candidate recruiting pool. She/he will have lead responsibility for ensuring that our information about board candidates is complete; generating reports and analysis for outreach, matching, and networking activities; and managing the use of information for maintaining engagement of recruits.

n  Logistical Support. Serve as the primary scheduler and coordinator for internal meetings, partner meetings, board meetings, and external events. Responsible for venue scheduling, meals, attendance and RSVP management, materials development, and follow-up activities including conducting and analyzing evaluation data.

n  Research and Resource Development. Respond to periodic requests for research and information gathering and development of resource materials regarding charter schools, effective governance, and the national charter school market.

n  Administrative Support and Office Management. Provide administrative support to President and Executive Director, as well as other staff. Serve as the point person for supply/equipment ordering and manage internal processes, inclusive of reimbursements, credit card expense management, etc.

n  Support for National Expansion. Assist in developing systems to support national expansion of CBP model beginning in 2013-14.

n  Demonstrated ability to over perform and over deliver

n  Excellent writing and editing skills, with relentless attention to error-free products

n  Desire to be part of a dynamic team and a willingness to be a team player

n  Flexible

n  Committed to education reform

n  Experienced with SalesForce (preferred but not required)

n  Has and appreciates a sense of humor
