[BloomingdaleActionList] FiOS - Follow Up

Hi All -

Has anyone has been successful with the move to FiOS?

I've called Verizon a couple of times in the past few months and they've told me that it's not yet available on my block (I'm on the unit block of Randolph Pl NW). I thought installation wrapped up a few months ago?

I've only been calling the 1-800-VERIZON sales line, I'm not sure if there is a better way to contact them.

Thanks,
Chris

Just curious - does anyone have any experience with FIOS?  What are the biggest benefits for having it?  Just speed of cable/Internet?

I talked to a tech doing an installation yesterday, and he was very emphatic that Fios is available in all of Bloomingdale, and that if your address does not show up on their website, to call to schedule an installation. ( I didn't have time to call about our house, so will try today- still shows up as unavailable this morning.)

Also, he said that if your alley does not have one of the black node boxes, the tech will install it in the alley with the first home installation in that alley.

Can't wait to hear from someone who has had Fios installed!

BTW - Our house has not lost power in the last few days, at least not anything noticeable, but our Comcast was out last night when we got home and had to be rebooted. Don't know if it was power related or just a coincidence.  Hope everyone got their power back last night.

Actually, this link is easier to use then the other one - just enter you location, and if it lists Fios, you can schedule. It looks a lot cheaper than what I am paying for Comcast, I think.

What is the best/recommended way to "check" if you are FIOS ready?

Some of you guys are Fios ready. Have you checked? Anyone had an installation? Any good deals/packages?
