ABOUT THE SCHOOL PERFORMANCE DEPARTMENT
Three teams comprise the School Performance Department (SPD): School Quality and Accountability, Equity and Fidelity Assurance, and Strategy and Analysis. The department is lead by the Deputy Director. SPD is responsible for overseeing and evaluating DC's public charter schools. Successful team-members are excellent writers and problem-solvers, have experience or a keen interest in education and/or public policy, and a strong work ethic.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Program Assistant, you will provide critical support in ensuring the Deputy Director and the School Performance Department (SPD) meet departmental priorities and goals. The Program Assistant will be responsible for creating an efficient and detail-oriented environment for school leaders and other stakeholders by scheduling and supporting internal and external SPD meetings, events, and projects. Responsibilities will include administrative support, project assistance, logistics, and communications. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, be able to thrive in a dynamic fast paced environment, meet demanding and shifting deadlines, and have a calm, professional demeanor at all times. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the infrastructure of a high-impact organization. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director.
