Research & Assessment Analyst
Exempt 12 months, full-time
The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (IRPA) at the University of Maryland is seeking a Research & Assessment Analyst. As a member of the assessment team, this position responds to institutional needs for assessment. The position will support the Campus Assessment Working Group (CAWG), a campus committee dedicated to building a culture of evidence on campus. The position will work with others on the assessment team, in IRPA, and in other offices to meet other assessment needs on campus, including learning outcomes assessment, program evaluation, course evaluation, and accountability.
Job Qualifications:
· Master's degree from an accredited institution required, preferably in higher education, social sciences, statistics, or related field; bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
· At least one year full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in educational assessment, institutional research, educational research, applied statistics, social sciences or related field required in an educational setting. Related experience in government or industry is acceptable.
· Experience in assessment, including assessment design, analysis, and reporting. Knowledge of statistical methods. Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work in team and group environments are essential. Preferred: Knowledge of SPSS, SAS, or other statistical package.
· US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; range starts at $54K. Excellent leave, medical coverage, retirement, and tuition-remission benefits. The position is available July 1, 2013, negotiable.
