A friend of mine works for an innovative education nonprofit called Blue Engine based in New York City. They partner with public high schools serving low-income communities to increase academic rigor and prepare dramatically greater numbers of students for post secondary success. Blue Engine recruits, trains, and supports Blue Engine Teaching Assistants (BETAs). BETAs are recent college graduates who collaborate with teachers to help students develop advanced skills in mathematics, literacy, and social cognition. As an organization servicing low income communities, they are seeking diverse talent (especially males) to teach leadership and accountability.
Presently, Blue Engine is looking for candidates that have completed bachelor degrees for the 2013-2014 BETA class. All majors are welcome! The deadline for completed applications March 11th. To apply for these positions please visit www.blueengine.org/apply. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to admissions@blueengine.org.
