[YEP-DC] EVENT: Education Sector's new K20 Task Force will talk education reform in next four years

WHEN: 9 to 11 a.m., Monday, December 3, 2012 (*registration and light refreshments at 9:00 a.m., program begins at 9:30 a.m.)
WHERE: National Press Club (First Amendment Lounge), 529 14th Street, NW
WHO: Peter A. Cookson Jr., Teachers College, Columbia University; Thomas Dawson, executive director of product management for Laureate Education; Joni Finney, director of the Institute for Research in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education; Craig D. Jerald, president of Break the Curve Consulting; Jeff Selingo, editor at large for The Chronicle of Higher Education; and Ben Wildavsky, scholar in research and policy at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
WHAT: "Should There Be an Undersecretary of MOOCS? A Waiver Watchdog? And Other Questions for the Next Four Years" The election results are in. President Obama has been re-elected, and the make-up of Congress largely remains the same. Will the next four years be a "rinse and repeat" on education reform? With ESEA reauthorization still looming, as well as the potential for HEA reauthorization, there are plenty of opportunities for this administration to build on the success of its first term. Join us for a lively discussion of what's next for the Obama administration and Congress over the next four years.
