[YEP-DC] Welcoming Schools event

The Center for Applied Linguistics and Welcoming America are hosting an invite-only DC-based interactive event on building welcoming school communities. Key stakeholders in the research, policy, and practice of immigrant education and integration will come together to discuss the engagement of both immigrants and longer-term, receiving community members in school-based settings. We will host a two-part event on September 30th which includes a morning panel with a film screening of the documentary I Learn America and an evening reception with an action-based discussion.

I appreciate this opportunity to reach out to folks who may be interested in attending. Space is limited! If you or your colleagues are interested, please contact me at

aduguay@cal.org with your name, email address, and affiliation, and I will see if there is space available.
