[YEP-DC] Posting for Yep Listserv

Hello,

My name is Olivia Stitilis and I have been receiving the YEP listserv (it's awesome!). I wanted to reach out because I am an Assistant Center Director at the organization, Higher Achievement and we are still looking for mentors for our After School Acadmy which starts next month. I was hoping that the following recruitment information could be sent out to the listserv. Let me know if this is a possibility.

Close the opportunity gap for middle school students -  be a mentor!

In a city where only 64% of students finish high school, 94% of Higher Achievement alumni do – and 93% go on to college. These results are astounding – and desperately needed. Higher Achievement is creating lasting change in the lives of youth – you can be a part of that change in the DC Metro area!

 

By leveraging the power of communities, Higher Achievement's proven model provides a rigorous summer and after school learning environment, caring role models, and a culture of high expectations, resulting in college-bound scholars with the character, confidence, and skills to succeed.  Scholars commit to four years in the program.

 

We are in need of Mentors and Study Hall Aides at our nine achievement centers in DC and Alexandria.  The commitment is one evening per week, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. Study Hall Aides volunteer from 3:30 - 6:15 pm, and Mentors volunteer from 6 - 8:15 pm. Training, curriculum, and on-site support are provided.
