[YEP-DC] New YEP-DC Blog Post: Why Rural Charters Are a Bad Idea

In his latest post for Recess, blogger Matt Richmond explains why rural charter schools do more harm than good, by drawing on his own experiences in international development. Choice, he says, isn't best supported in a rural environment. "In urban areas, with more infrastructure, money, and greater population densities, it's a solid premise with a lot of potential," he writes. "But rural charters are a bad idea for many of the same reasons 'market liberalization' was a disaster in southern Africa." How so?
