DC Prep's Talent team works to ensure that the highest quality, mission-aligned school leaders, faculty, staff, and Home Office personnel join the DC Prep organization. Reporting to the Director of Talent Recruitment and working in collaboration with others on the Talent Team, the Talent Recruiter will work to attract, identify, recruit, select, and engage outstanding faculty, staff, and Home Office personnel. By bringing on excellent people, the Talent Recruiter will play a key role in ensuring that DC Prep's students are guided by adults who are passionate, talented, and uncompromising in ensuring their success, and that as DC Prep expands to additional elementary campuses, we are recruiting excellent founding early childhood faculty members and leaders.
Recruitment of Faculty, Staff and Home Office Personnel
- Identify opportunities for outreach, and represent and promote DC Prep through external events, on-campus tours, and other opportunities
- Screen candidates to evaluate qualifications or eligibility based on minimum role requirements and state compliance
- Maintain an applicant pipeline for future openings
- Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection
- Schedule, coordinate, and conduct initial interviews
- Manage logistics for interview days, including preparation of interview materials and coordination with campus-based leadership
- Schedule, coordinate and host candidates' on-campus interviews and assist School Leaders with finalist selection
- Maintain relationships with principals and campus-based interview teams in order to understand hiring needs and scheduling
- Ensure an exceptional experience through unwaveringly high levels of customer service with both internal and external audiences by being honest, warm, responsive, and thorough at all times
- Maximize the chances that high-quality candidates accept DC Prep's offer by promoting the organization in a competitive and professional manner
- Maintain web-based applicant tracking system and update records of applicants' status
- Conduct reference, education and employment verification checks
- Attend and participate in job fairs, open houses, and website recruitment
- Create and revise job announcements; determine job posting sites, post positions and ensure that postings are up-to-date
- Work with Operations and Human Resources staff to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new hires
- Regularly gather data on DC Prep's attraction and selection processes in an effort to reflect and refine our processes to ensure even greater success

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least two years of teaching experience in a data-driven environment, preferably in an urban public school, with a record of high student achievement; experience working in early childhood education preferred
- Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university
- Familiarity with the charter movement and/or urban school systems desired
- Experience with interviewing and hiring

The External Relations Associate will work with the three-person External Relations team within the Home Office (DC Prep's 'central office') to implement an aggressive fundraising campaign and increase DC Prep's brand and image as the organization expands to serve more students. The Associate will conduct donor research, manage the development and communications database, schedule and run point on school visits, coordinate donor events, and help with grant applications. The External Relations Associate will also assist in developing materials for both internal and external audiences, maintaining the DC Prep website, ensuring a robust social media presence, managing electronic and print communications to donors, and maintaining relationships with external vendors. The External Relations Associate role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth at a high performing and growing organization. We are eager to support and develop future leaders for DC Prep! The Associate will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Development
- Manage all electronic and printed donor-related information including the development and communications database, donor research, and donor communications, acknowledgements and recognition documents
- Conduct donor research on individuals, corporations and foundations
- Coordinate and schedule school visits for external groups and individuals
- Organize internal logistics for special events including annual fundraiser and donor thank you events
- Assist in drafting and editing written grant applications and powerpoint presentations to foundations, government and corporations
- Participate in the research and development best practices in fundraising
Marketing and Communications
- Coordinate with partners and vendors to deliver collateral materials targeted to a variety of stakeholders including current/prospective parents, teachers, donors, and partners
- Draft communications materials
- Maintain and regularly update website and DC Prep's social media channels
- With the Director of Marketing and Communications, develop and implement communications
- Coordinate advertising placement in select publications

- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of education reform and charter schools a plus
