Executive Director
Position Summary: Edu-Futuro seeks a team-oriented leader who will grow our impact and expand our services to meet the educational needs of our community's immigrant families. The Executive Director is the chief officer for the organization and reports directly to the Board of Directors. This position takes responsibility for achieving the organization's mission by leading the day-to-day operations of the organization and being responsible for all aspects of management, including management of programs and the direct oversight of personnel. The Executive Director will be responsible for revenue generation and budget control, and will take an extremely active role in fundraising.
Responsibilities:
Staff Management & Leadership
· Recruit, hire, train, develop, motivate, supervise, lead and evaluate program and administrative staff , while ensuring high standards, open communication, and team work.
· Promote a healthy organizational culture in which all staff members, volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and interns may thrive.
· Provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.
Resource & Relationship Development
· Work collaboratively and effectively with the Board of Directors to develop a long-term funding strategy and an organization-wide commitment to fundraising.
· Prepare and submit grant proposals and reports, and supervise accurate collection and compilation of data to meet requirements of funding organizations.
· Work with Board and staff to plan and conduct an annual fundraiser and other special events designed to raise funds and awareness.
· Strengthen relations with existing donors, including foundations, corporations, individuals, and state and local governments, and build relations with new donors.
· Capitalize on the human resource potential of the organization's volunteer and mentor network.
· Collaborate with key partners, nonprofits, churches, associations, and community leaders.
· Manage multi-year AmeriCorps grant as the site supervisor for our team of AmeriCorps members through our partnership with Arlington Works! (www.arlingtonworks.org).
· Implement media and marketing strategies that positively promote the organization and maximize our online presence through social media and online fundraising tools.
Program Development & Implementation
· Take primary leadership and provide guidance for staff, Board members, volunteers, and community members to develop, deliver, and expand evidence-based, culturally appropriate programs.
· Work with staff and the Board to evaluate program outcomes and services to ensure the organization makes consistent progress toward our goals.
· Oversee the maintenance of student and program records.
· Supervise all programs and carry out plans and policies of the Board.
Financial Management & Oversight
· Create and adhere to annual budget projections in conjunction with the Board.
· Oversee payroll and accounting functions and work with Board to maintain financial records.
· Ensure compliance with financial, tax, contractual, and organizational obligations.
· Actively manage revenue and expenses.
Board Support & Growth
· Provide regular reports, support, and information to the Board of Directors and collaborate with the Board to develop agency policy.
· Help strengthen the Board through recruiting, training, and relationship building.
· Ensure fulfillment of legal and ethical requirements to maintain nonprofit status.
· Support the effective operation of the Board, including fundraising activities, by advising, informing, and interacting with Board members.
Qualifications:
· Strong track record of fundraising, marketing, and public relations with growing small/medium sized nonprofits.
· Proven managerial/supervisory skills and budget management.
· Hard working and goal oriented with strong leadership and public speaking ability.
· Reputation for integrity and ethical standards, as well as outgoing and positive personality.
· Superior written and verbal communications skills.
· Detail-oriented, outstanding organizational skills, excellent planning and multi-tasking ability.
· Self-motivated, reliable, and energetic with a strong capacity for independent and team work.
· Technology savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media.
· Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency with regards to Latino communities.
· Demonstrated commitment and passion for the organization's mission and work.
· Fluent English and Spanish language skills, both written and spoken.
· Knowledge of educational issues impacting immigrant children, youth, and families preferred.
· Experience with databases and websites a plus.
· Nonprofit administrative and teaching experience a plus.
· Must be eligible to work in the US.
Education: Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
Salary: $50,000 - $65,000, contingent on experience and other qualifications.
