SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

As the Social Media Intern you will assist BePolished to develop our brand's voice. You will help us to communicate our brand's message across multiple social media platforms.

 

ABOUT BePolished

BePolished is a 501c3 tax exempt organization founded in 2013.  BePolished empowers girls in single parent households to "Exude Life Etiquette". BePolished life etiquette programs encompass elements of financial literacy, career development, and innovative thinking. We are committed to cultivating young girls into confident women while exposing and educating them to a world of opportunity. (www.bepolished.org)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

•                You'll assist with developing a social media communication plan

•                You'll assist in posting relatable, engaging content across all social media platforms

•                You'll assist in engaging with users

•                You'll help in creating blog entries

•                You'll research hashtags related to our mission

•                You'll help to curate content and pictures

 

SKILLS

You breathe social media.

You're short of being addicted to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr. 

You're aware of #hashtags and not afraid to be bold.

 

You're a mover and shaker.

You're eager to learn. You're inspired to change the world. You know that building community can do that. You're committed to BePolished's mission and cultivating a community people can't resist to belong to.

 

You get things done.

You're a multitasking machine. You follow through on every request, no matter how big or small, with attention to detail. And when you need help, you let your supervisor know.

 

You have the basics down pat.

You know how to best use Microsoft Word, Excel and online tools to multitask and stay on top of several projects simultaneously.

 

You're independent yet flexible.

You achieve results with little supervision. You aspire to own projects while also following our staff's critique and leadership.

 

COMMITMENT

We're looking for a student or recent graduate to start in early January and commit to being here through mid-May. This is a remote position. If you have a laptop, you can be anywhere. We will require weekly conference calls and monthly in-person meetings.

 

COMPENSATION

This is an unpaid internship - but is an exceptional opportunity to gain experience at a social enterprise with an ambitious mission. We will gladly work with your institution to give you academic credit for your experience.

 

LOCATION

This opportunity is for those located in the Washington DC area, or those wanting to work with us remotely.
