Achieve Tutoring believes in better thinkers, better learners, and ultimately creating better students. We tutor DC public school students who need it most, and the service is free of charge to their families.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Location: Cesar Chavez Prep, 770 Kenyon Street NW, Washington, DC 20010
Times: Tutors work 3:15 - 5:15 Tue, 1:15 - 4:15 Wed
Grades: 6 - 8
Subjects: Math
Number of students each tutor will work with: 8 - 12
Approximate Dates: Mid-Jan 2015 - Late May/Early June 2015

Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour based on credentials and teaching/tutoring experience (In addition to the hourly rate, tutors are paid for prep time and planning meetings.)

1) Resume. Your resume needs to be tailored to a TUTORING position and should focus on TUTORING/TEACHING experience.
2) Two references. Send VALID email addresses for your references and they should be able to comment on your ability to teach/tutor.
3) Indicate which subjects you can tutor.
4) Indicate whether you have the results of a TB test within the last six months and a clearance through FBI fingerprinting. You will need to have the results of the TB test prior to the in-person interview.
5) Indicate which location, days and times that you can work.
6) A short writing sample. Please respond to scenario (a) or (b) below. Describe (in 200 words or less) how you would help (a) a quiet, disengaged student with low math confidence improve their math skills or (b) an easily frustrated student improve their math skills.
