[YEP-DC] Intern With Capital Cause | Help Revolutionize Young Philanthropy




Please note: We are a virtual staff and majority of work will be done remotely. TBD in person meetings will be required bi-weekly.

Capital Cause - a nonprofit that is revolutionizing the way that young people give back their time, talent and treasure to causes they support - is seeking six interns who are looking for an experience that will not only build their resume but also involve them in creating change.  This is not your average internship!  Interns that work with Capital Cause will gain hands-on experience, and various opportunities to apply the skills they have learned in class in a professional working environment.  Two interns will receive book stipends.

PR Intern
PR interns will work closely with the Director of Public Relations, and other members of the PR and Capital Cause teams. Capital Cause is looking for an intern passionate about social change and community involvement to join our Public Relations team. An interns responsibility could include, but not limited to, social media growth (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, etc.); blogging; press outreach and assisting in press release development and dissemination; event coverage; bi-weekly newsletter composition; research on millennial and young philanthropy giving. 

Event Planning / Program Management Intern
Event Planning/Program Management interns will work closely with the Director of Events and Grants Directors to assist in coordination of events for Young Philanthropist Giving Circles.  Young Philanthropist Giving Circles involve young philanthropists in raising funds or contributing skills to benefit local nonprofit organizations.  Interns will help secure venue space,  assist in event planning and logistics management,  identify and communicate with course speakers, assist with outreach to young professionals and assist Directors with meeting their goals to grow the young philanthropy movement.

All candidates must have time management skills, project management skills, ability to prioritize  and be a self-starter. Must have internet and phone access. Candidate must share Capital Cause's core values.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to attend bi-weekly meetings in the DC area
  • Must be at least a college sophomore/Minimum GPA 3.0 | Graduate students are welcome too
  • PR/Marketing background preferred but not required
  • Access to computer with internet

  • Two interns from cohort will receive $100 book stipend based on performance.
