- The American Enterprise Institute, a leading nonprofit public policy research organization, seeks a full-time External Relations Associate to work in the area of education policy.
The External Relations Associate will create and implement communication strategies for research, events, and publications, working closely with other AEI departments on dissemination to national and local media, appropriate federal and state policymakers, academics, think tanks, practitioners, and other relevant parties in the education policy world. Other communications responsibilities include working with AEI's Government Relations, Development and Coalitions departments, identifying and building relationships with influential policymakers, funders, and other key players in the education space to help promote the department's work.
In addition, the External Relations Associate will work closely with scholars and research staff to coordinate the logistics of AEI Education's popular day-long research conferences on issues such as school choice, educational entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and higher education reform. Event management responsibilities include overseeing high-level public and private events, including the department's acclaimed keynote event series and launching events for major book projects and research.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in education, communications or related field and 2-4 years of experience in education, communications, government or related field.
