[YEP-DC] Volunteer Posting: Volunteer at EdFEST (DC's largest public school event)

Please volunteer to help with EdFEST on November 21st and/or November 22nd at the DC Armory!

EdFEST is DC's largest showcase of traditional public and public charter schools for families and children (PK3-12). Additional participants will be on site providing valuable services and fun activities for all ages. EdFEST is taking place on Saturday, November 22 at the DC Armory from 11am to 3pm.

Friday, Nov 21 (Day before event)

The day before the event, we will help direct school exhibitors during load-in to their designated areas, set up signage, and other set-up activities. Essentially, we're prepping EdFEST to look spectacular! The more helping hands the better so bring a friend!

Shifts: Please only sign up for the shift that you can truly commit to.

• AM Shift 10 am – 3 pm
  
• PM Shift 3 pm – 7 pm
  

Saturday, Nov 22 (Day of Event)

Volunteer Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

• Helping with exhibitor load-in (no heavy lifting required)
  
• Helping with some event set-up
  
• Distributing event information to families/attendees and answering questions
  
• Informing attendees about participating exhibitors and where particular booths are located
  
• Social media mania – tweeting from the event
  
• Helping with some event breakdown, and more

Shifts: Please only sign up for the shift that you can truly commit to.

• AM Shift 7:30 am – 12 noon
  
• AM/PM Shift 10 am – 3 pm
  
• PM Shift 2 pm – 6 pm
  
• Or more than one!
  

Event Details:

• Location: DC Armory at 2001 E Capitol St SE near RFK Stadium
  
• Free parking in Lot #3 directly across from the Armory
  
• Metro accessible – Stadium-Armory on the Orange/Blue/Silver lines
  
• Complimentary lunch, snacks, and beverages – lunch provided during first shift only
  
• Everyone gets a volunteer t-shirt
  
• No secure storage onsite; please leave valuables at home
