Profile of Ready At Five

The goal of Ready At Five is to ensure that all children in Maryland enter school ready to succeed while focusing on the children in greatest need.  We are passionately committed to assuring that all children develop the early childhood skills and educational foundation which is essential to enabling them to fulfill their potential.

Our Strategic Priorities are drawn from our services model and focus our near term work toward achievement of our mission through our theory of action. Our five strategic priorities are:

  • Synthesize, analyze and disseminate the annual Maryland school readiness data and national research to stimulate informed decisions regarding early care and education practice, policy and investment decisions.
  • Identify, create and transfer innovative practices and resources to improve the quality of early care and education experiences for all Maryland children.
  • Generate public awareness and engage constituents around the human, social and economic benefits of investments in early care and education and school readiness.
  • Convene stakeholders to mobilize collective action and impact to support all Maryland's children.
  • Expand the administrative, financial and leadership capacity of Ready At Five to ensure its sustainability.

Overview of Role

 

In this newly revised position, the Senior Program Director will partner with and report to the Executive Director to assist in charting Ready At Five's future growth and strategic response to an increasing demand for implementation of its current programs. The Program Director is responsible for enhancing current and developing new programs and services maximizing the synergies among program areas while managing their quality, evaluating their effectiveness and reporting to our stakeholders.  As a Senior Leader on our team, the Senior Program Director will bring passion, enthusiasm and leadership skills to strengthen partnerships, advance collaboration and continue positive momentum to deliver education opportunities for all young children in Maryland. position has both internal and external priorities, ranging from project/program management, organizational planning and leadership of Ready At Five staff to evaluate the fidelity, validity and reliability of all its programs and services offering concrete recommendations for future growth and enhancements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of Ready at Five's mission.  These functions include, but are not limited to:

 

Strategy and Execution

  • Contributing  to the development of the strategic business plan for Ready At Five's programs;
  • Developing consensus around issues affecting school readiness;
  • Mobilizing people, networks and resources to benefit young children

Program Management

  • Identifying and addressing changing program/project needs;
  • Establishing consistent, objective program performance standards;
  • Collecting, analyzing and reporting programmatic data;
  • Producing program and grant reports; creating data dash boards,  and graphic publications;

 Qualifications

 

  • Five to eight years in program or other  management positions, preferably in a nonprofit, foundation or government agency
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
  • Passion for Ready At Five's nonprofit mission and impact
  • Demonstrated managerial, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Proficient in using technology as a management and reporting tool
  • Ambition to grow and assume a leadership role within the organization
  • Energetic, visionary, a self-starter with a track record delivering superior results, commanding respect in leadership roles
  • Entrepreneurial interests and skills to assist Ready At Five to broaden its programs, resources and services and reach within Maryland
  • Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities
  • Expertise working with diverse groups of stakeholders at the state, jurisdiction and community levels.
  • Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining relationships with a wide array of people, junior and senior level, for-profit and not-for-profit, businesses, foundation and corporations.

Salary range - $70,000 - $78,000
