[YEP-DC] Calling All Educators: Why do you teach where you teach?

The Education Trust is looking for educators in high-need schools to participate in a blog series called "Why I Teach Where I Teach."

We're asking teachers to explain (in 250 words or fewer!) what attracted them to the school they currently teach in and what has kept them there – or they are free to elaborate on something else they think is better suited to answer the "why I teach where I teach" question. The strongest submissions we've received thus far have been those with anecdotes or examples. The hope is that, through these personal stories, we can highlight the types of schools, structures, leaders, and supports that attract teachers to (and keep them in) high-need schools.

Submissions are edited for clarity and length (but not opinion, of course!), and we will send back any changes prior to publication. We'll include a headshot of each teacher, too. (Photos with students are welcome, so long as the kids/teens have media release forms.) All posts will appear on Ed Trust's The Equity Line blog.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out. Otherwise, we look forward to hearing about your experiences!
