Join us for the second Ahead of the Curve conference in 2014! School leaders and leadership teams are invited to participate in all new discussions and workshops on implementing the Common Core State Standards in DC. Learn what your DCPS and public charter colleagues have done to ensure successful integration of the Common Core in their schools. Workshop topics include formative assessment systems, close reading instruction, PARCC performance task analysis, communicating with parents about the Common Core, and more!

Public Perceptions of the Common Core and their Impact on Communicating with Parents
Brandon Busteed, Executive Director of Gallup Education, and Helen Westmoreland, Deputy Director of the Flamboyan Foundation, will lead a discussion on public perceptions of the Common Core and public education and how the results of national public opinion polls can help school leaders in developing their communication strategies with parents.
