Have you ever read a report or news story and walked away with an opinion? Turn that opinion into published commentary on YEP-DC's Recess blog!
--
-- We're looking for bloggers who have an interest in education policy, practice, or research and who have a sense of what's trending or important in the education scene, either in D.C. or nationally. We welcome teachers who can share how reforms are playing out in the classroom, researchers who can break down data in an understandable way, advocates who can tell us why their way is the right way, and policy wonks who can keep us up to date on policies that will make a difference. As a blogger, you choose your topics and work with an editor to hone your writing skills each month. This is an excellent opportunity to gain writing experience and published clips.
This is a volunteer position, and we have several openings. Bloggers must be able to commit to publish one post per month for six months, beginning in November 2014. For more information or to talk through any ideas you might have, email yepdc.communications@gmail.com.
To apply, submit a sample blog post of about 500 words to appear on Recess to yepdc.communications@gmail.com.
Application deadline is Monday, October 27.
