Position: Deputy Director, Federal Grants Compliance
Division: Office of Grants Management and Compliance
Salary Range: $91, 201 - $127, 682
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position of Deputy Direct, Federal Grants Compliance is located in the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) Office of Grants Management and Compliance (OGMC). The Deputy Director plays a senior leadership role in finance and policy. The Deputy Director will serve as a key contributor, thought leader, and provide day-to-day oversight of the Office. The incumbent has broad authority to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities. The use of independent initiative and judgment in accomplishing varied and complex assignments is necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· The ideal candidate for the Deputy Director of Federal Grants Compliance will have an entrepreneurial skill set and experience managing many facets of an organization.
· The incumbent provides advice on strategic and operational issues, and develops and implements solutions to increase the overall effectiveness of K-12 fiscal policies, grant programs, processes, and communications.
· The incumbent will work closely with the Director to identify and solve grants performance problems and to reengineer processes related to the management of the agency's funds.
· The incumbent will be instrumental in creating an organizational culture of accountability and professional development opportunities to internal staff and external stakeholders and grant recipients.
· The ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible, excelling in a fast-paced, often-changing state policy environment.
· The incumbent will write and speak clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences including grant recipients, state, federal policymakers, and practitioners.
· The incumbent will work collaboratively with others within the agency to support financial reform efforts and lead reform initiatives as needed.
· The ideal candidate will build relationship and have the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, cultivating productive partnerships and alliances.
· The incumbent will have keen analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and coordinate complex concepts.
· The incumbent will be able to work well under pressure and inspire confidence and energy internally and externally.
· The incumbent will have experience in providing leadership and performance management of staff.
