[YEP-DC] OSSE: Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) Information Session and Pilot Study

Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) are specific and measurable academic goals set by teams of teachers for all students in a grade level or course at the beginning of a term. They are becoming widely used as one way to measure student growth, achievement, and teacher effectiveness, especially in untested grades and subjects.

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is offering guidance to schools on the creation and use of SLOs. Part of this guidance is a pilot study that will support LEAs through the development and implementation process. The pilot study will begin this January, and will convene for one semester. If you are interested in sharing best practices around SLOs, learning more about SLOs and/or participating in the pilot, please join us for an information session on Thursday, December 12th!
