[YEP-DC] Opportunity to advise young adults: City Year 18-minute Networking

The City Year Alumni Association of Washington, DC is pleased to host its annual 18-minute networking event. Come to this great event helping young adults who have served in DC public schools for a year take their next step! We invite you to be a facilitator and share your experience with City Year DC's 150 corps members by leading small groups, giving advice, and discussing your career path. We are in need of facilitators with expertise and experience in any education related career, however, we are also looking for facilitators in other professions (law, medicine, etc.), so please feel free to pass on to other colleagues or friends who may be interested.

City Year is an education focused, nonprofit organization that unites young people, ages 18-24, of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service to keep students in school and on track to graduation. City Year Washington, DC places corps members in 13 public schools throughout Washington, DC. Corps members make an impact in students' lives every day.

The design of this event is intentionally interactive and focuses on connecting corps members to community members and leaders who have experience in various career and leadership paths, so they can ask questions, learn, and practice the art of networking and building relationships. As a facilitator, you would speak with small of groups of corps members - three sessions, each lasting about 18 minutes.

Date: Thursday, December 12, 2013
Time: 4:45p.m. –6:30 p.m.(arrival by 4:15-4:30p.m.)
Happy Hour to follow – details to come.
Location: Calvary Baptist Church (close to Metro Center and Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Stations)
