DC Educators, the United Negro College Fund and Teach For America are hosting a free screening of the documentary American Promise, which explores the lives of two young men and their families as they navigate stereotypes, identity and cultural expectations. The documentary spans 12 years of the boys lives during which the filmmakers capture their son and his best friend entering the prestigious Dalton School in kindergarten but diverging as their education continues. The documentary opens a dialogue about the achievement of our young black males, which we hope will inspire ideas and inspiration to support our incredible students.
