[YEP-DC] Mentor a Latino youth--change their life and yours! Submit volunteer application by June 21st!

Help build a future of excellence for Latino youth this summer with Edu-Futuro's Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). 

Since 2006, Edu-Futuro has delivered the Emerging Leaders Program, empowering more than 70+ youth each year as they contemplate college, apply for scholarships, and submit college applications with the guidance of their mentors. Students also develop their public speaking and writing skills, participate in college field trips, and benefit from college and career connections. Results show that 85% of youth in ELP increase their knowledge of the college application process and of the students scheduled to graduate, 85% enroll in college. Most students in the program will be the first in their family to attend college in the United States.

Join ELP in our Arlington or Falls Church location and provide guidance and advice to a Latino youth on the college application process, college life, career paths, and academics. For our summer semester, mentors will meet with their mentees on Monday or Tuesday evenings depending on program site from June 24th or June 25th through Saturday, August 3, 2013 for a joint graduation ceremony. Mentor applications can be downloaded at http://bit.ly/ELPONE and are due on Friday, June 21, 2013. (It is a simple form that takes 10 minutes to fill out and submit!) All mentor applicants undergo a background check and attend an orientation on the first day of the program.
