The Center for Technology in Learning, housed in the Education Division of SRI International, leads large-scale research and development projects and evaluations. We are seeking an experienced candidate able to participate in a wide range of research and evaluation activities as well as project management. The selected applicant will be responsible for contributing to several projects and responding to a range of clients simultaneously.

Specific research and evaluation duties include: library research and literature reviews; instrument design for surveys, interviews and observations; participation in site visits and data collection; coding and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data; and writing to support communication of research to academic, policy, and commercial audiences.

Project management
The successful candidate will also provide project management support, specifically by tracking work progress of project team members; reporting to and consulting with project leaders on work progress; making recommendations for project procedures; monitoring and working with subcontractors; and creating and maintaining project management documents such as schedules, budgets, and status reports for clients.

Requirements:
- Experience with multiple research methods, including case study research, large-scale surveys, and ethnographic interviewing techniques, with strong preference for experience in educational settings.
- Strong analytic skills, with preference for candidates that have experience with quantitative and qualitative analytic software such as SPSS, SAS, Atlas.TI, etc.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills; capacity to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to attend to details, modify approaches in consideration of practical concerns, and accept and adapt to sudden changes in client priorities.
- Willingness to travel 8-10 times per year for site visits and client meetings.  Many visits will be for 3-5 days each.
- Experience with educational technology use; curriculum and instruction in K-12 settings a significant plus.
- Track record of skillful work with clients; experience with federal agencies and organizations (i.e. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, NASA) a significant plus.

Candidate should have an M.A. in the social sciences or related policy fields and at least 3 years of prior work experience OR a combination of work experience in policy analysis/research and work experience in technology or in the high-technology industry.
