Leading Educators is coming to the nation's capital this summer and needs your help to ensure great academic outcomes for DC students!
What is Leading Educators? Following several years of success in New Orleans and Kansas City, Leading Educators' two-year Fellowship is now being offered in Washington, DC to develop the leadership capacity of teacher-leaders. The Fellowship includes frequent leadership development sessions, in-school coaching, and small-group collaborative sessions. Training emphasizes building a teacher's ability to coach and provide feedback to other teachers.
What does Leading Educators do? The Fellowship is designed to increase faculty effectiveness, retain talented educators, and ultimately raise student achievement in schools enrolling high numbers of students from low-income backgrounds. Leading Educators aims to ensure that public education successfully trains its middle leaders to extend the reach of the best teachers and bolster the pipeline of future principals.
In what schools will Leading Educators Fellows work? Leading Educators has formed partnerships with district and charter schools with a mission to ensure outstanding educational outcomes for the DC students that need it the most. Teacher-leaders are currently completing a rigorous application process to select the inaugural cohort of Fellows who possess outstanding academic results and responsibility for impacting the results of at least two other faculty members at their school.
How can you help? Leading Educators is currently hiring educators with demonstrated adult leadership success to coach the inaugural cohort of DC program Fellows. This is a great opportunity for instructional leaders committed to building the capacity of current and emerging leaders in high-needs schools to expand their reach across the DC education community and stretch their coaching skills in a new way. Plus, Leadership Coaches can earn up to $8,000 per school year for a maximum of 30 hours per month of Fellows support, including visits to Fellows' schools to observe them in action, one-on-one Fellows coaching sessions, and ongoing tracking and documentation.
If you or someone you know has -
