E.L. Haynes Public Charter School was founded in 2004 and has an award-winning program based on effective practices for advancing student achievement. E.L. Haynes currently serves over 900 students in grades PreK-10 and continues to grow until it serves PreK-12th grade.

Description
The Recruitment Assistant will work closely with the Human Capital team to assist with helping to ensure all Human Capital systems and policies are effectively and efficiently executed. The Recruitment Assistant will support recruitment and hiring functions, and may assist with other core Human Capital functions, including on-boarding, and employee records management. The Recruitment Assistant will embrace the school's vision, while promoting the school's core values.
This position will be a critical part of the E.L. Haynes Human Capital team, as we manage one of our busiest times of year, and work to build and support our most important organizational asset - our Human Capital. This position will report to the Director of Human Capital.
Responsibilities include work in the following domains, but are not limited to:
Recruitment
· Assist with maintaining internal and external job boards to ensure all posted job opportunities are current and that E.L. Haynes' job postings are highly visible.
· Assist in researching various advertising mediums.
· Assist with tracking participation in the staff recruitment bonus program.
· Assist with research, planning, and execution of all internal and external recruitment events.
Hiring
· Assist with maintaining system for tracking candidates and with generating hiring metric reports.
· Assist with screening incoming applications and identifying candidates that should proceed to a phone interview.
· Work with hiring teams to efficiently schedule phone and in-person interviews.
· Greet candidates whenever they visit E.L. Haynes, conduct tours when necessary, ensure they have all necessary materials for demos/tasks, and ensure members of the hiring team are present.
· Identify candidate references (both provided and not provided by the candidate) and assist with conducting reference checks.
The Recruitment Assistant will also take on administrative tasks as needed by the Human Capital team, Chief Financial Officer, and/or Chief of Operations and Policy.
Time Commitment
This position will be a seasonal position, working from June through August/September of 2013, with the possibility of extension if necessary. Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Interest in Human Resources
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Commitment to the E.L. Haynes mission and serving all students
- Ability to work independently
- Meticulous organization and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven track record of being a strong team player
- True ability to connect with people and interact with others with grace, competence, and warmth
- Sense of humor
