[YEP-DC] Vote Now - Restore Living Classrooms Chesapeake Bay Buyboats

Would you pass this along to this listserv?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Living Classrooms Foundation is a Washington-Baltimore based non-profit educational organization with a distinctive competency in experiential learning—literally learning by direct experience, or what we call "learning by doing."

We are so excited to announce that we are one of 24 finalists in the 2013 Partners in Preservation Campaign!Partners in Preservation is a program in which American Express, in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, awards preservation grants to historic places across the country.

Your daily vote will help give away $1 million to preserve historic places in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.  You can vote every day April 24 - May 10 for Living Classrooms Historic Fleet. As a valued partner and friend of Living Classrooms, we would be honored to have your vote to Keep our Fleet Afloat!

HOW VOTING WORKS:

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Go tohttps://www.preservedmv.com/competitors/living-classrooms-of-the-national-capital-region
  2. Click "Vote"
  3. You will then be prompted to log-in either via your email address or through Facebook. We HIGHLY encourage you to link you Facebook (and all of your social media accounts!) to the site so we can receive the maximum number of points through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  4. Once you log in via Facebook, your "social media profile" will show up and prompt you to add your Twitter and Instagram account as well. Keep in mind: In all, we can earn 85 POINTS PER PERSON PER DAY (that's 1,445 points for the whole competition!), if each person links their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare accounts just this once

Here are the basics:

Once you've followed the above instructions, the easiest way you can continue to support us throughout this campaign (from April 24- May 10) is by remembering these three words:

VISIT. VOTE. SHARE.

VISIT: Once a day, visithttps://www.preservedmv.com/competitors/living-classrooms-of-the-national-capital-region and select Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region as your favorite historic site.

VOTE: As long as you've followed the initial instructions to sync your Facebook profile, you will simply have to click on the "Vote" icon, and 50 points go to preserving Living Classrooms' Historic Fleet!!!

SHARE: Just one person who votes with all four social media accounts can help us earn up to 1,445 points total over the course of this campaign (See the below grid for the breakdown), simply by sharing information about this campaign using the hashtag#livingclassrooms on your Twitter and Instagram in addition to sharing your vote on your own Facebook page.

We also want to keep Partners in Preservation engaged and aware of all of our fantastic supporters (AKA YOU!) so be sure to follow @partnersinpres and use the hashtag #preserveDMV  when sharing about this campaign.

Open House!
As part of this campaign, we will be hosting an open house for our boats at the Southwest Waterfront, Gangplank Marina, on Saturday May 4th  from 12pm-3pm. This will be a great opportunity to check out our vessels first hand, meet some of the crew, and enjoy some light refreshments. Cantina Marina, also located at the Gangplank Marina, will be donating 10% of proceeds during the open house- so we encourage everyone to visit our friends at Cantina for some drinks or a beautiful lunch on the water.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. As mentioned above, we will provide more detailed instructions for this exciting campaign on April 24th. We hope you will support us by spreading the word and joining us at our open house on May 4th.

Sincerely yours,

Living Classrooms
