YEP-DC is excited to announce the launch of Recess, a blog for (and by) YEP-DC members just like you: professionals in education practice, policy, advocacy, and research, as well as education enthusiasts. It's a way to engage with each other between events, highlight the great work of YEP-DC'ers, and better position the group in the education space in Washington, D.C.
The blog will feature new content from our staff of bloggers each week. Our current bloggers are educators, nonprofit professionals, and consultants. Like you, they have a passion for ensuring that all students have access to an excellent education. At Recess, they will share their ideas, add context to ongoing debates, or highlight emerging trends.
In the coming weeks, be sure to catch these posts:
- CJ Libassi explains why he's an ed-tech doubter.
- Scott Goldstein does his own research and finds interesting information about advocacy group leaders who push education reform.
- Wenna Price reminds us of the pressing need for computer programmers and what K-12 schools can do to fill the void.
- Amanda Klein recaps David Pinder's talk on "breaking all the rules" in ed reform at YEP-DC's inaugural policy-to-practice conference.

We hope each post makes you think or teaches you something new. But more importantly, we hope you'll participate: share, leave a comment, or even submit a guest blog. We look forward to the discussion!
