Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy

Position Description:  Principal, 1 High School and 1 Middle School

 

As the school's most senior academic and school culture leader, the Principal is responsible for managing all policies and programming that ensure a learning environment consistent with the college preparatory and public policy-infused curricula missions of Chavez Schools.  The Principal collaborates and cooperates with key Home Office personnel, leveraging subject-matter expertise to ensure the effectiveness of school programming is maximized.

Key Requisites

  • Minimum of 2 years as an effective Vice Principal in an urban school community as evidenced by teacher and scholar growth and achievement data as well as personal performance data
  • Minimum of 4 years' demonstrated success as an effective classroom teacher and/or teacher leader in an urban school community
  • Substantive experience with data and intervention programming
  • Substantive school leadership coursework
  • Solid understanding of the developmental and social nuances of children in grades 6-8/9-12
  • Master's degree in Education Administration or related coursework

Position Description: Vice Principal, 1 High School and 1 Middle School

As a key member of the campus' senior leadership team, the Vice Principal primarily focuses on curriculum and instruction, yet has an integral role in every aspect of the school's overall academic and cultural programming. He/She understands the requirement and importance of being present and having a presence with scholars, teachers, staff, and families in this highly visible role.

Key Requisites

  • Minimum of 2 years as an effective teacher leader/instructional coach in an urban school community as demonstrated by teacher achievement and growth data
  • Minimum of 3 years' demonstrated success as an effective classroom teacher in an urban school community as evidenced by scholar achievement, scholar growth and evaluation data
  • Substantive experience with data and intervention programming
  • Substantive leadership development coursework
  • Solid understanding of the developmental and social nuances of children in grades 6-8/9-12
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in Education Administration or related coursework preferred
