Since YEP-DC incorporated in 2010, we have grown tremendously, both here and around the country. As a result of this growth, we have decided to update our corporate bylaws, a document that provides requirements for the work of YEP-DC's officers and board of directors. If you have attended four or more YEP-DC events in the past year or have assumed responsibility for planning YEP-DC programs, you are eligible to vote on proposed changes to the bylaws. The vote will take place at the next meeting of the YEP-DC leadership team, from 7:00 PM to 7:20 PM on April 23, 2013 at 1130 Connecticut Ave. NW, Suite 950, Washington, DC 20036.
The proposed changes to the bylaws consist of: streamlining and updating provisions related to the formation of regional chapters; updating the board of directors committee structure, including creating committees to oversee operations in DC and expansion around the country; clarifying the duties of certain officers; eliminating the three classes of members established in the current bylaws; other changes including use of consistent terminology, elimination of typos, and changes to the fiscal year of the organization.
