The ROXIE (Reaching Our Excellence In Education) program encompasses the Journalism and Media Arts focus of our school. As Roxie, Mississippi was the birthplace of famed African-American author Richard Wright, our ROXIE program serves as the birthplace and foundation for investigative thought, creativity, questioning, skill building, understanding, innovation, and analysis for our students. Through a hands-on approach to learning in which instructors from the professional community provide exciting opportunities and experiences in and beyond the classroom, Richard Wright PCS students learn fundamental concepts and skills essential in the fields of print and broadcast journalism, film, graphic arts, visual art, and music.
