The associate works as part of teams that develop strategies, initiatives and products that further client goals to ensure quality public schools and afterschool learning experiences for all children. S/he will support the conceptualization, planning, development, implementation, logistics and budget for projects. The associate must be intellectually curious and a savvy consumer of technology, able to research, identify, learn and teach new tools in response to client needs, such as social media (Facebook, Twitter), websites and blogs (Google Sites, WordPress, Drupal), online community platforms (Ning, Groupsite), virtual communications (WebEx, GoToMeeting), email marketing (Constant Contact, MailChimp) and event management (EventBrite, RegOnline).

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate will provide leadership and support in the following areas:
- Manage elements of small and large meetings, including managing registration systems, preparing participant materials and developing learning environments
- Research, recommend and apply new technology solutions to real-world problems, and creatively utilize existing tools to their fullest
- Key contact for afterschool leaders and facilitator of online learning community
- Document interviews and meetings
- Support network development essentials, including scheduling a range of in-person and online activities and events and providing logistical support to ensure success
- Support the development of partnerships and vendor relationships
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA and at least two years of experience in afterschool, education, communications, public relations, community and civic engagement or community-based organizations focused on youth issues
- Commitment to and understanding of education and/or afterschool issues, particularly for children and youth in underserved communities
- Demonstrated competence in using technology-based tools
- Professional presentation of superior written and oral communications capabilities
- Demonstrated experience and success in organizing people and products.
- Ability to travel roughly 10-20 percent of time
- Flexibility during peak workload periods is a must
Salary: $40,000-50,000, commensurate with experience.

The senior associate works as part of teams to develop strategies, initiatives and products that further client goals to ensure quality public schools and afterschool learning experiences for all children. S/he will contribute to the conceptualization, planning, development, implementation, logistics and budget for projects focused on critical issues in afterschool, including quality, sustainability and collaboration.
This position is a unique opportunity to grow the afterschool field. The senior associate must have research and synthesis skills and be able to quickly scan, assess, capture and disseminate news and accomplishments in the afterschool field.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The senior associate will serve as a project manager and will provide leadership in the following areas:
- Manage networks of people, understanding the relationships, details and ideas that support and extend their work.
- Support network development essentials including audio and web conferences, Web site and listserv content, technical assistance teams, and documentation of meetings.
- Manage elements of small and large convenings, including developing learning environments, overseeing budgets and interfacing with consultants.
- Contribute to publications and other knowledge products, including research, writing, editing, managing designers, coordinating printing and production, and overseeing dissemination.
- Support the development of partnerships and relationships to maintain and build new networks.
- Manage project scope, budget, work plans and timeline and facilitate team and project meetings.
- Contribute to the development of project management skills and capabilities at the firm.
- Manage day-to-day client interaction including building relationships as well as setting and managing project expectations and processes and communicating effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree and at least five years of experience in afterschool, education, communications, public relations, community and civic engagement or community-based organizations focused on youth issues.
- Commitment to and understanding of afterschool issues, particularly for children and youth in underserved communities.
- Exceptional project management skills
- Professional presentation of superior written and oral communications capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience and success in organizing people and products.
- Ability to travel roughly 20% of time.
- Flexibility during peak workload periods is a must.
Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position.
