An introspective, 4-day experience, The National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC) offers 6th through 9th grade high-achievers a unique opportunity, through the insight and guidance of highly trained facilitators and the assistance of their peers, to discover skills and values that will benefit them throughout this critical phase of their lives.

Temporary Summer Education Opportunities

We are seeking dynamic individuals to work with high-achieving scholars in various roles at our educational conferences. All jobs are residential and require long hours, but every experience is certainly "more than a job." Staff members continually return to work with us each season to inspire, educate and motivate a future generation of leaders. Each program provides a complete paid training prior to the start of the program.

Faculty Advisor
The Faculty Advisor is responsible for providing the best experience possible for all participants of the program through facilitation of all educational curricula for the program. The Faculty Advisor must be able to interact with and supervise students and to provide for their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include:
• Supervising an assigned group of 20-25 high school honor students.
• Facilitating small group meetings (lead discussions, briefings, debriefings, simulations, etc.).
• Accompany group on all outings
• Prepare students for each day's activities.
• Provide supervision.
• Be knowledgeable of all program rules and regulations, as provided during training.
• Responsible for providing the best experience possible for all program participants.
• Perform other duties as determined by the program leadership

Additional Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree (Required for FA/SR, Preferred for Ops/OC)
• Must be 21 year of age (Required for FA/SR, preferred for elementary Ops/OC positions, not required)
• Interest in or knowledge of program topic
• Experience and/or interest in working with students
• A high energy level, flexibility and the ability to work extended days and hours
• Ability to reside at the conference site
• Attend a mandatory paid training session prior to the first conference session
• Pass a mandatory criminal background check
• Hold valid driver's license with good driving background and significant (3-5 years) experience with city driving (Operations Team positions)

Remuneration: On average, staff members will make $125 per day based on an hourly rate. Staff members are compensated for training.

Dates: Dates vary per program but generally the programs run from June to August.
