[YEP-DC] Fwd: Fundraising Drive for LAYC

Dear YEP-DC members,

Please see the below message from a friend about opportunities to support the Latin American Youth Center in Columbia Heights. If you'd like to attend the "Small City, Bright Lights" gala, early-bird tickets ($50) are currently available.  In addition, LAYC is kicking off its Global Giving Challenge for folks who cannot attend the gala, or who wish to contribute a donation of a different amount.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all doing well!  As some of you may know, I am on the Associate Board for the Latin American Youth center and we are hosting our first big event -- Small City, Bright Lights: A Rooftop Affair!! I am on the Event Planning Committee and it is definitely going to be an awesome event!

Each AB member has a goal of bringing at least 5 people to the and I am hoping I can get some of you to attend to see the great work that LAYC does.  Details for the events are below and the early bird registration is next Friday -- tickets are $50!!

However, if you cannot make the event or if the price tag is a bit out of your range, we do have another opportunity to donate -- LAYC's Global Giving Challenge.  Any amount for the donations can be made! $10 to $50!! I need to bring on at least 10 unique donors. The funds raised through this effort will help LAYC send low-income youth to a summer arts camp where they will develop their creative skills in arts and media while exploring environmental issues and resources. Without this fundraising efforts, these camps will not happen this summer. http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/send-youth-to-summer-arts-camp-in-washington-dc/

Thank you for supporting my work with LAYC!
Cecilia :)
