Howard Road Academy – Parent Liaison
Position Status: Full-Time; 10 month
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Number of Positions: One (1)
Duties & Responsibilities
As assigned by the building principal, may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Providing information to parents about the local school's procedures, instructional programs, and the names and roles of administrators and staff members.
2. Conducting meetings at school or in their homes for parents who request help in completing specific forms for school registration.
3. Providing information to parents about the resources available to them throughout the school system and community.
4. Becoming familiar with the publications and services of the school system's Parent Resource Center.
5. Helping parents access community resources.
6. Making home visits to parents, as appropriate.
7. Contacting parents to serve on school committees or to attend special events at the school.
8. Serving as coordinator for transportation arrangements for parents who request this assistance.
9. Serving as a contact person for parents to call with questions about the school services or specific activities and events.
10. Maintaining confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities.
11. Participating or helping with the School Improvement Committee and/or school renewal efforts.
Required Qualifications:
1. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
2. Holds a valid driver's license
3. Relates well to people of all ethnic groups
4. Demonstrates strong organizational skills
5. Is trustworthy and dependable

Howard Road Academy – OASIS Director (Aftercare)
Position Status: Full-Time; 10 month

Duties & Responsibilities
As assigned by the building principal, may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Remain on site throughout HRA's afternoon and evening hours, interacting with students, staff and parents.
2. Oversee HRA staff and program, including hiring, training, and supervision, consistent with written policies and core values
3. Manage the HRA program, including budget, supplies, and programs
4. Communicate with HRA's Board of Directors and parent community
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or related field
· At least two years experience managing employees, working with children and managing a center's budget and finances
· Documented passing of DCMP background check and TB test prior to employment
· Certification in CPR and First Aid

Howard Road Academy - Human Resource Assistant Vacancy
Position Status: full-time, 12 month
Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience

Brief Description of Duties
The duties and responsibilities of the HR Administrative Assistant, as assigned by the building principal, may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Recruiting and staffing logistics;
2. Performance management and improvement tracking systems;
3. Employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping;
4. Assisting with employee relations;
5. Company-wide committee facilitation and participation;
6. Company employee communication;
7. Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping;
8. Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting; and
9. Employee services;
10. Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system;
11. Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduate and 2 years related experience and/or training. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must also have:
· Prior administrative experience,
· Strong planning,
· Coordination and organizational skills,
· Project management skills,
· Teamwork,
· Verbal and written communications skills, strong analytical skills.
· Prior experience in Human Resources is a plus.
· Must be capable of becoming an expert in HR tools and be able to train others in their use.
· Must be willing to leverage, collaborate and plan with other HR Assistants and HR employees
· High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
· Ability to gather and analyze information and use it to develop effective solutions.
· Time management in a fast paced office environment, with the ability to work on multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
· Must also be proactive and have the ability to work effectively under pressure and within short time constraints.
· Good judgment in resolving issues, the ability to maintain confidential information, the ability to work independently to achieve results, strong analytical skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.
