[YEP-DC] DC Teachers needed for Master Teacher Cadre (paid opportunity)

The DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education is pleased to announce a new opportunity for DC educators to partner with OSSE and American University to share best practices and develop resources for all secondary educators of special populations in the District of Columbia.

OSSE will select up to 40 educators with Secondary Special Education or English as a Second Language expertise, including general educators teaching special populations, to form a Master Teacher Cadre (MTC). Selection criteria will include (a) number of years taught, (b) grade levels taught, (c) subject matter expertise, and (d) a recommendation from a building administrator.

 

Educators will meet face-to-face six times during non-school hours: 3 Tuesday night sessions 5:30-8:30PM (May 26, June 9, June 23) and 3 Saturday sessions 9:00AM—2:00PM (May 30, June 13, June 27). Selected educators are expected to attend and fully participate in the 6 MTC face-to-face sessions, as well as complete 12 hours of online coursework.

 

All participants will be paid a stipend of $35/hour for session attendance and online work completed (up to $1260) and will receive 3 graduate credit hours through American University.
