The Office of Public Charter School Financing and Support (OPCSFS) within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), is seeking individuals to serve as peer reviewers for the FY 2015 Scholarships for Opportunity and Results (SOAR) Act grant. The purpose of the SOAR Act grant is to address two impact areas:
o Innovative funding to improve school performance and educational outcomes; and
o Effective facility financing and funding to increase the number of quality public charter school seats.
OPCSFS is seeking reviewers with expertise, knowledge, and skills in Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education, Finance, Rehabilitation and School Expansion, Construction Project Evaluation, Charter School Start-up and Implementation and/or experience working in Public Charter School administration. Experienced practitioners and graduate students with relevant backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Reviewers will receive an honorarium of $100 per application for the satisfactory and timely submission of completed grant reviews.
A grant reviewer training session will be delivered via webinar during the week of May 25, 2015. Instructions to sign up for the webinar will be sent out to interested parties. We anticipate that each application will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to review. Reviewers will be divided into teams and assigned approximately 3-5 applications each (number will vary based on capacity and interest).
To sign-up, please complete the application at: http://goo.gl/forms/FD1mrfcxHA and submit a copy of your resume to opcsfs.funding@dc.gov.
