[YEP-DC] JOB: P/T Computer Science Advocacy Researcher at Code.org

Advocacy Researcher (Seattle, WA preferred)

Job Summary:

Code.org is recruiting for an Advocacy Researcher who will provide assistance with our state policy and advocacy research needs. Part-time, long-term contract (6 months, with a possible extension based on need). Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Research and analysis of state policy issues, including:
    • State standards for K-12 education
    • University admission requirements
    • Teacher certification programs and pathways
    • Course code implementation at the State Department of Education level and with local school districts
    • Graduation credit requirements
    • Pre-service teacher requirements
  • Develop policy recommendations and reports
  • Regularly update relevant statistics for messaging and advocacy

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years experience in education policy and research (required)
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (required)
  • Knowledge of K-12 computer science issues (preferred)
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
