Advocacy Researcher (Seattle, WA preferred)
Job Summary:
Code.org is recruiting for an Advocacy Researcher who will provide assistance with our state policy and advocacy research needs. Part-time, long-term contract (6 months, with a possible extension based on need). Responsibilities of the position include:
- Research and analysis of state policy issues, including:
- State standards for K-12 education
- University admission requirements
- Teacher certification programs and pathways
- Course code implementation at the State Department of Education level and with local school districts
- Graduation credit requirements
- Pre-service teacher requirements
- Develop policy recommendations and reports
- Regularly update relevant statistics for messaging and advocacy
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years experience in education policy and research (required)
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (required)
- Knowledge of K-12 computer science issues (preferred)
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
