SHENRIVER MUSIC GROUP ANNOUNCES MUSIC PUBLISHING COMPANY

In Support of Local Area Songwriters

 

Strasburg, VA, February 2015 — ShenRiver Music Group, LLC is announcing the launch of its new, independent music publishing business with the purpose to help organize, assist, promote, and mentor songwriters in the Northern Shenandoah Valley area.

Based in Strasburg, Virginia, ShenRiver Music Group was founded in December 2014 by music industry veterans Bill Foster and Don Crigler. ShenRiver Music Group will provide a marketing avenue for local songwriters to collect mechanical royalties from their work when their songs are used on artist CDs, or other outlets, whether for limited distribution or major release.

Bill Foster has over 35 years of experience as a performer, broadcaster, and writer. Bill is a professional member of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). He is a member of the DC Bluegrass Union and is a writer for Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. He is also producer host of "Foster's Corner" on WAMU's Bluegrass Country radio. Bill has recorded with Florida's Swinging Bridge band and Strasburg's Five of a Kind band. Bill plays guitar and mandolin. He also maintains a number of music and business web sites.

 

Don Crigler has been performing, and writing songs since the 1990's. Don plays guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, mandolin, and he teaches guitar. He has one self-produced album, and four additional CD's which he recorded and produced.  He has won an Honorable Mention for his instrumental "Albemarle Sound".  Don is a member of SAW, Songwriters Association of Washington.

ShenRiver Music Group will be seeking out new songwriters and invite them to join us. We will be listening to new material from prospective writers and secure administration agreements for selected songs. We will be promoting our song catalog through demo CDs, on-line sampling, web site, facebook, and email. Our market targets include artists, record labels, television, movies, video games, ringtones, ad agencies, and other outlets for music.
