[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator at American Councils for International Education

American Councils for International Education is currently hiring an Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator in its Higher Education Division. Please see below for more information about this position.


Position Description

 

SUMMARY:

The Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating promotional activities and recruitment for American Councils Outbound study abroad programs in Russia and Eurasia.  S/he will work closely with the Outbound staff and program managers to prepare print and electronic materials, distribute program information to public audiences, update website materials, and make public presentations. The position will require close attention to detail, strategic thinking, the ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently, and a readiness to communicate with diverse groups of people. In addition, the Outreach and Recruiting Coordinator will work closely with Outbound staff on the general administration of Outbound programs, including processing incoming application materials, database maintenance and compiling of reports for funding agencies and donors. While organizational skills and attention to detail will be an important plus for any candidate, experience and interest in study abroad in Russia and/or Eurasia is also important. Periodic travel will be required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Prepares and distributes advertising materials for study abroad programs in Russia and Eurasia;

·         Coordinates and conducts informational presentations about American Councils programs for students, study abroad administrators, and faculty, including promotional trips to U.S. universities and conferences;

·         Maintains calendar of all recruitment activities;

·         Arranges recruitment trips to U.S. universities for Outbound staff;

·         Develops new plans for outreach initiatives, including, as necessary, arrangements for new design of printed materials and website;

·         Posts regular listserv announcements, and ensures that advertisements appear on schedule in selected journals;

·         Tracks and reviews Outbound presence on other websites;

·         Assists with Outbound program administration, including but not limited to visa processing; tracking incoming documents; uploading acceptance materials to the website; and planning and presenting at pre-departure orientations;

·         Supports efforts to grow the Outbound alumni network and increase Outbound social media presence;

·         Regularly attends outbound activities, including orientation sessions, weekly staff meetings, and RD debriefs;

·         Responds to telephone calls and e-mail inquiries; assists in daily operation of outbound office;

·         Assists in writing and preparation of program handbooks, as well as reports and grant proposals for funding agencies and donors;

·         Works within program budgets to track expenses and execute cost-effective advertising strategies;

·         Assists with additional Outbound administrative duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         BA required; graduate degree preferred;

·         Study abroad experience, preferably in Russia or Eurasia;

·         Strong written and oral communication skills in English; additional knowledge of Russian preferred;

·         Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, study abroad administrators, and parents;

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

·         Ability to work independently while contributing to overall team effort;

·         Experience in creating marketing and advertising strategies strongly preferred;

·         Experience in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and video editing software in order to create marketing materials a plus;

·         Experience working with websites (HTML/CSS) and social media;

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook);

·         Public speaking or teaching experience.
