Passionate about diversifying the education landscape? Interested in designing real solutions with education leaders across the city?
Join EdFuel, in partnership with the Fellowship for Race and Equity in Education, for the 2015
Diversity Design Challenge!
Over 80% of the education workforce in the United States is White, including in cities where students of color make up the majority of the population enrolled. Bottom line: this must change.
The Diversity Design Challenge aims to bring together talented individuals to tackle the critical issue of diversity in Washington D.C.'s education sector. Working in teams, participants will have the opportunity to create innovative solutions to one of the most pressing problems in K-12 education, and present their work to a panel of expert local change-agents.
Kickoff Session: March 19, 2015 | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Design Day: March 20, 2015 | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Each team will present their work to an expert panel that includes:
- Jennifer Niles (Deputy Mayor for Education)
- Ursula Wright (Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary for Special Projects, Department of Education) and
- Jacqueline Greer (Executive Director, Urban Teacher Center).
Be part of the change! To reserve a spot, visit our website here or email Mark (mjohnston@edfuel.org). $99 per participant (cost covers space and food). Questions? Reach out to Mark.
Interested in signing up as a team? Even better! Email Mark (mjohnston@edfuel.org) and we'll make it happen. Teams of 3 or more will receive a discount of $10 per person.
