[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Summer Camp Staff

Waterfront Academy is hiring Summer Camp Counselors.

This Spanish Immersion, arts and music based summer camp will run from June 22-August 28. Interested candidates should email their resume, cover letter and weeks of availability to employment@waterfrontacademy.org with the subject line "Summer Camp Counselor."

This is a great opportunity to share your love for the Spanish language and work with children from various schools in neighborhoods around the city, many of whom will be exposed to Spanish for the first time. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bilingual, Spanish and English (Native Spanish speaker preferred)

• Meet OSSE requirements to work in a child development center (click here to view), preferred

• Understanding of the Montessori Curriculum and culture of independence and mutual respect

• Work with students of various abilities, including those with various exceptionalities

• Work in a multicultural, bilingual environment

• Meet health requirements, including immunizations and a complete TB test screening

• Submit necessary documents for completed personnel file (ex.references, fingerprinting and clearance forms)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

• Be responsible for the welfare, safety and educational achievements of students

• Collaborate with others to high quality care

• Maintain and manage a positive learning environment

• Participate in meetings, trainings and/or planning cooperatives

• Understand the school's mission and objectives and comply with policies

• Be available to assist with support duties
